Subject: Foreign Pool Report #1a--some added translation/transcript

Some added color (and translation) of the Oval Office pool spray, upon listening back to the tape:

Following a question by Japanese press in Japanese of “Can you please shake hands?”, Prime Minister Abe suggested to President Trump, “Shall we shake hands?”

About 10 seconds into their 19-second handshake, as Japanese press shouted in Japanese “Please look this way!” POTUS asked PM Abe, “What are they saying?” To which PM Abe responded, “Please look at me.” POTUS smiled, looked at the Prime Minister, and patted the back of his hand, and PM Abe smiled back at Trump and pointed in the direction of the cameras.

After a “Thank you everybody,” and a double thumbs up, the President said “Strong hands” and motioned a golf swing as pool was escorted out of the room.
