Today in the Oval Office, the visit of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

Pool was brought into the Oval Office for a two-minute pool spray.

Quote from POTUS: "Thank you very much. It's a great honour to have you. You've been a true ally, a wonderful country, and a great relationship and that relationship as you know as of moments ago is getting even better. So thank you very much for being here. It's my honor."

Quote from Iohannis: "Thank you very much Mr President. It's a great pleasure and honor for me to be here. And I'm looking forward to our discussions on our partnership.

POTUS: "Yes, it's been a great partnership."

No concrete answers to various shouted questions.

Also on the schedule today for POTUS and Iohannis: an expanded bilateral meeting in the Cabinet Room and the press conference in the Rose Garden.

The Romanian Embassy tells me it was they who suggested the press conference, and it was the White House that agreed to it yesterday.

Per the Romanian Embassy, the following members of the Romanian delegation were expected to be in the expanded Cabinet Room meeting:

Klaus Iohannis - President of Romania

Bogdan Aurescu - Foreign Affairs Advisor

Eduard Hellvig - Director of National Intelligence

Delia Dinu - Protocol Presidential Advisor

Andrei Muraru - Public policy and Civil Society Presidential Advisor

Dana Barsan - Communication and Press Presidential Advisor

Adriana Romascan - Foreign Policy expert

George Maior - Ambassador of Romania in the US

Iohannis is currently on a rather long visit to the US. It started on June 4 and ends today with the White House meeting.

Iohannis already met POTUS at the NATO meeting in Brussels last month.
