Jill Biden Pool report 1

The United States Second Lady Jill Biden met yesterday with Argentina's First Lady Juliana Awada, as part of her official visit to the South American country.

Dr. Biden was welcomed by Awada at the Olivos presidential residence in the outskirts of Buenos Aires City. Awada was waiting for Dr. Biden at the entrance of the main building of the recently-remodeled residence, where they both posed for photographs and exchanged a few words. The conversation was inaudible.

Following the official welcome, they entered the residence, where they held a private meeting for half an hour, with no access to the press. It was the first official encounter between Awada and Dr. Biden.

The US Second Lady will visit a school with Argentina's First Lady right after the meeting, where they will talk to teachers and students. In the afternoon, Dr. Biden will address an audience of educators on community colleges in the US and sign a bilateral deal on education between Argentina and the US.

Argentina is the third stop of Dr. Biden as part of her Latin American tour. She first travelled to Costa Rica and Peru, where she visited the Inca citadel Machu Picchu and met with members of the Youth Ambassadors Program. After Argentina, she will travel to Panama, her last stop.
