Mrs. Obama's first stop inside Union Market, the warehouse-turned-hipster food emporium in Northeast Washington, was a gallery space, cordoned off to feature about seven interactive booths championing girls' causes and education. Booth sponsors were also Let Girls Learn sponsors: Proctor & Gamble, JetBlue, Starwood Hotels, Lands' End and Johnson & Johnson were those your pooler saw.
The First Lady emerged from a side entrance at 11:55 with the Demi Lovato song, "Confident" playing, and made her way around the room to check out the booths. (for example the JetBlue booth featured a book vending machine that dispensed children's books)
Note on the Alex & Ani bracelets mentioned in the pool report. According to the Alex & Ani booth, there were three string charm bracelets made for Let Girls Learn, Mrs. Obama today wore all three together. They retail for $21/each, with 20% of the proceeds going Let Girls Learn, according to a representative at the booth.
As the First Lady made her away around the booths, the pool was ushered into the adjoining event space to await her remarks ...
