More guests arriving for State Dinner.

Actress Sandra Oh was wearing a long dress that had a long dark green skirt and floral top and her trademark glasses. She said she was wearing Kevin Hall. She was accompanied by a man wearing funky white glasses.
"This is such a celebration of two countries," she said.
She said she was "extremely proud of Canada."
“This is the great thing about being Canadian. My father and my best friend have met the prime minister on Canada. So that kind of says so much about Canada.”

Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont said he lives about an hour from the Canadian border.
“It’s nice to see the friendly relations with Canada.”

He said if you live in Vermont, you would not be surprised by the Trudeau mania.
“He’s a breath of fresh air for Canada.”

Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, wearing a long blue dress, said she met Trudeau last night at a reception and they talked about hockey.
On the dinner, she said: “I’m just excited. It’s going to be great.”
“I’m head of the American-Canadian Inter Parliamentarian Group and for eight years we’ve been in the trenches talking about…water and wood pulp and so this brings some much needed glamor to the very important relationship between America and Canada, one of our biggest trading partners, a true friend and the only embassy that I’ve ever seen that had draped on its wall outside, Friend, Ally, Partner.” This is a great day mostly because it’s going to help America think about how important Canada is to our global security and also to our economy.”

SNL producer Lorne Michaels was not chatty, though he said he met the prime minister earlier today at lunch. When asked what he was looking forward to, he merely said “just the dinner.”
What do you think of him? “Very impressive.”

Senator Angus King of Maine said he met with Trudeau this afternoon on Capitol Hill.
When asked what he thought of Trudeau, he said "He's young…Very impressive."

Others who went by without talking: Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and Sen. Jon Tester of Montana.
