Subject: Flotus pool report #5
The First Lady participated in the first-ever White House fun-run on the South Lawn. She joined a crowd of warmed-up youngsters at 5:12pm.
"You guys ready to run?" She asked the rowdy crowd. "Let's do this! Let's move."
The First Lady joined the group wearing an eggplant workout top, a black cap, and dark runners pants. They did a couple of stretches as a group before running in waves. The First Lady waved a white flag as the various clusters of children got moving. The First Lady joined the second-to-last "wave" of children. There were 5 total.
Your pooler's view is a bit obstructed but the 0.7 mile run circled the lawn. The first wave returned to the blue room balcony at 5:18pm. The First Lady returned at 5:22pm. After the run, the runners gathered for a group pic on the blue room balcony and the steps on both sides. Some pics are pasted below.
Before the First Lady joined the children participating in the run, a group of Nike trainers and Olympians led the group in a stretch and warm up. Lots of "bunny hops" and toe touches. Your pooler spotted two of the young stars of the ABC show blackish among the runners.
The First Lady left at 5:26pm
