The sun rose in the east, the sky is blue, and POTUS is beginning the first full day of his Hawaii holiday trip with golf.

Pool van joined motorcade at 9:56 am departing neighborhood of the First Family's holiday rental in Kailua. Arrived minutes later on grounds of Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Pool van separated at 10:01 am and arrived at our home away from home away from home: the Mokapu Mall food court. POTUS golfing partners to come.

A small smattering of protesters held signs at the end of Kailuana Place, including on a calling for closure of Guantanamo, clemency for Chelsea Manning, "End Gaza Blockade" and another simply reading: "8 Years Waiting, Stop and Talk." Hat tip to AFP photog Nicholas Kamm for close ups.

Required weather boast: current temperature is 75 degrees. It is partly cloudy with some showers in area (one short sprinkle occurred during our sweeps).
