POTUS arrived back at the WH earlier than scheduled, with Marine One touching down on the South Lawn at 4:27 p.m.

POTUS and FLOTUS (looking sharp in a knee-length black dress and black handbag) waved to a large, cheering crowd gathered on the driveway.

The Obamas entered the Diplomatic Room doors at 4:30 and POTUS then walked around to the Oval Office.

Ben Rhodes and Avril Haines, deputy national security advisors, walked in behind the Obamas.

It is 82 degrees, cloudy and humid on this mid-September afternoon. Pool observed dozens and dozens of spectators on the driveway, most wearing 'Intern' badges.
