Subject: In-town pool report #1: WH arrival
At 10:27 pm ET that pinprick of light to the right of the Washington Monument appeared amidst some small spit of rain. By 10:29, Marine One sat down on the South Lawn. Once the door was opened by a lead aide--and this is unique to my albeit limited experience of copter landings--the president emerged alone. He walked to residence by himself. It took several seconds for any staff to emerge from the craft to follow. He seemed in a hurry to get home, while keeping a relaxed pace. By 10:35, Marine One was aloft.
That's the drama, as far as it goes.
Have a great weekend, all.
