Subject: In-town pool report #4 - JBA

After an uneventful drive out of downtown Washington to suburban Maryland during which the president's motorcade followed just about all local traffic laws and patterns, including waiting on a crowded exit ramp, we entered the Joint Base Andrews gates at 3:28 p.m. The president's vehicles broke off from pool vans two minutes later. A White House aide ends the suspense with this: "Potus is golfing at JBA today with Marvin Nicholson and Joe Paulsen."

Your pooler and others were surprised the president opted to hit the links on such a warm day, but consider this line from famous golf course designer Pete Dye: "The ardent golfer would play Mount Everest if somebody put a flagstick on top."

The pool is holding at Burger King.
