Subject: In-town pool report & lid
Good evening folks, from your first-time WH pooler:
Marine One first came into view at 6:51 p.m. with touchdown on the South Lawn at 6:54 p.m. Obama emerged at 6:57 p.m. saluting the Marine waiting outside as he stepped out.
The president casually walked toward the residence waving toward the media pool where staffers and Secret Service members also waited as the sun set over Washington. He was wearing a navy blue suit and white shirt with no tie.
He did not speak or answer any questions as he walked by a row of television cameras and reporters. He entered the residence at 6:58 p.m.
Among aides who exited Marine One after the president were Principal Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz, White House Photographer Pete Souza, Political Director David Simas and Personal Aide Joe Paulsen.
And with that - we have a full lid.
