Subject: Pool report #1 -- good morning, everybody
The president stayed overnight on the summit site so the pool has not seen him this morning in advance of the morning working session.
For your awareness as you wait for a presidential appearance, here is background on the two morning sessions from the White House:
Japan has identified women's empowerment, health, and quality infrastructure as key themes for two "Outreach Sessions" at today's G7 summit meetings. Invited Outreach Partners include Bangladesh, Chad, Indonesia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the UN, OECD, IMF, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank.
In the first outreach session, G7 leaders will discuss development issues in the Asia context, and have a chance to engage with the six Asian Outreach Partners (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Sri Lanka.) In the second outreach session, G7 leaders will discuss development issues from a global perspective, including implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
