This afternoon, the President is meeting with six rank-and-file law enforcement officers from across the country to thank them for their service to our communities and to discuss how communities and law enforcement can work together to build trust to ensure public safety and strengthen neighborhoods. These officers, who were nominated by the heads of their law enforcement agencies, plan to share their experiences and lessons learned from strengthening relationships within the local communities they serve. The agencies were selected based on their demonstrated experience in community policing and geographic diversity.
