POTUS focused on impact of climate change on asthma rates and increased threat of insect borne diseases not traditionally seen in north america. "A whole host of public health challenges are goiing to hit home" in effort to get ahead of changes he annced climate change and health summit @ wh this spring.  SG Murthy talked abt impact of earlier spring and longer summers on allergies and said astma is "a personal issue for me." A favorite uncle died from a serious asthma attack plus he has treated many asthma patients and seen how scary it is to wheeze and fight for every breath. He segued into prevention saying admin wants to make sure "every American no matter who they are or where they are from has a shot @ a healthy community". Potus had last word saying prevention is cost effectve that it has been proven cheaper to fix smog and acid rain than deal with their consequences. "The costs of inactioin are even higher than costs of action," he said noting not only human cost of child visiting emergency room 6 times with asthma but also financial cost.   Pool now in vans for trio back to WH
