Subject: Pool Report #8
As POTUS left Blair House, your pooler called out to ask whether POTUS had read the Russia hacking report and whether he had discussed it with the POTUS-elect. POTUS heard the question but did not reply.
In his "closing remarks," POTUS was asked what his role will be as Congress debates repeal/replace.
"The most important office in a democracy is the office of citizen. And I will be a citizen who still remembers what it was like when his mom died of cancer," he said, adding that his mother did not benefit from early detection that can save lives. He also highlighted Michelle Obama's father's fight with MS.
"Those are our stories," POTUS said. "It’s not like I’m going to suddenly fade away on this."
"I’ll be working with all of you, but my voice is going to be less important than the voices of people (who are?) directly affected," POTUS said, inviting those folks to "make your voice heard."
