Subject: Print Pool Report 2
The pool is holding in classroom-style room at 7900 Westpark Drive, an office building in Fairfax, Va.
As we entered, a six-story atrium inside the building was lined with hundreds of employees of various companies, waiting, many with phones in hand, for a glimpse of President Obama. They missed him though. He used another entrance.
We will not be allowed to watch any of the interview, or provide any remarks, embargoed or otherwise, from the President.
Here background from a White House official:
The President will join Chris Matthews at the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce for an interview on the importance of passing trade promotion authority to pave the way for new, high-standards trade agreements that put American workers first and help American businesses expand. They will be joined by Congressman Gerry Connolly and local Northern Virginia business leaders for a discussion on how opening up new markets to American goods and services and locking-in strong environmental and labor protections into future trade agreements can benefit workers and businesses alike. As he has done before, the President will lay-out his commitment to negotiating a deal that avoids the mistakes of past deals, stays true to our values as a country, and makes it easier for ordinary Americans to get ahead.
The conversation will be broadcast in full on MSNBC’s Hardball tonight at 7pm EDT.
Participants in the interview include:
Congressman Gerald E. Connolly
U.S. House of Representatives , Virginia’s 11th District
