Subject: travel pool 9 - arrival at speech location
At 3:34, after a 45-minute wait following our exit from the showroom, caravan finally began rolling to the UAW speech. Background on speech is below. POTUS was introduced by Cindy Estrada, UAW vice president.
At 3:50, POTUS took the stage. His remarks are open press and being streamed live.
From the WH:
The President will deliver remarks at UAW-GM Center for Human Resources (CHR), the national headquarters of the joint relationship between UAW and GM. The CHR is primarily an educational institution that develops, coordinates and administers programs that help UAW-GM people build cars, trucks and crossovers in UAW-represented GM plants. In October and November, UAW ratified contracts with the three major car manufactures: GM, Ford and Fiat Chrysler. These contracts all now extend until 2019 and give the auto manufacturers, as well as line workers, stability over the next three years.
WH also adds that the crowd count is 400.
