President Obama's motorcade left Chief of Mission's Residence at 9:48am. There weren't any cars on the road. There were some people gathered on the sidewalks near the residence to watch the motorcade pass by. As the motorcade got closer to the speech site in Old Havana, the crowds thickened. Thousands of Cubans lined the sidewalks opposite the Malecon and along Prado. Many of them held up phones to record video and take photos of the motorcade. They waved. Some held flags. There was at least one extended selfie stick.
It's a beautiful sunny day in Havana. Motorcade arrived at Gran Teatro de la Habana around 10:10am. Speech is open press.
