Subject: Travel pool report #2 - Chicago Arrival
POTUS arrived in Air Force One at Chicago's O'Hare airport at 12:50 pm central time. He quickly deplaned in temperatures that are even more frigid than when we left Washington. (1-degree; -17 windchill; even colder on helicopters). He saluted without gloves
No greeters on the tarmac, but expecting at least one ex-chief-of-staff-turned-mayor to be in attendance at the next stop.
We are headed to the helicopters and eventually for Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory, where POTUS will announce the creation of three new national monuments and talk about a new program to let 4th graders and their families go to national parks for free.
Principle deputy press secretary Eric Schultz gaggled on board AF1. Look for a pool report soon and the transcript that will follow.
Getting on Ospreys now.
