Behind POTUS was a painting the WH describes as:
Michel Mirabal, a Cuban artists, donated the painting "My New Friend" to the US embassy in Havana on December 17, 2015, the one-year anniversary Mr. Obama and President Castro's announcement. The painting features representations of hte Cuban and American flags. It's an interactive work that was painted during the anniversary event at Charge d?ffaire Jeffrey DeLaurentis' residence.Event participants were invited to dip their hands in red, white or blue paint; handprints form the body of both flags. Mr. Mirabal began the day in Washington, DC, painting a similar work that now hangs in the Cuban embassy in Washington. He then flew to Havana, where he participated in the US embassy in Havana's evening event.
