Travel pool report #6, 8/31/15 - Obama climate speech

Anchorage

President Obama took the stage in a dimly lit auditorium at the
Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center at 5 p.m. and gave a speech
streamed live on the White House web site in which he made an urgent
plea for countries of the world to band together and take steps to
combat climate change, in which he repeatedly said, "We're not moving
fast enough" to stop the rapidly advancing impact. He spoke for about
24 minutes and received a standing ovation, then lingered for a few
minutes greeting the delegates attending the GLACIER conference.

The motorcade rolled from the convention center at 5:30 for the quick
drive back to the Captain Cook Hotel, where we are holding while we
contemplate an extremely hot, watery future.
