President Obama began his remarks by addressing the Paris terrorist attacks.
"The skies have been darkened by the horrific attacks that took place in Paris just a day and a half ago"
He said the killing of innocent people in Paris and Ankara is an attack "on the civilized world."
"We stand in solidarity with" France and are committed hunting down the terrorists responsible.
He called Turkey a strong partner of the US and other members of the coalition against Islamic State. He said today's discussion was very helpful in helping coordinate on the effort. He said they agreed to "redouble our efforts" with other members of the coalition to reach a political resolution to the Syrian civil war.
He said they also discussed the refugee crisis.
They also discussed climate change and other issues that will be a focus of the G20 agenda.
They stood and shook hands.
Pool was rushed out and is holding before a photo op outside.
