Mr. Obama: "We will redouble our efforts, working with other members of the coalition, to bring about a peaceful transition in Syria and to eliminate Daesh as a force that can create so much pain and suffering for people in Paris, Ankara and other parts of the globe."
Mr. Erdogan: "I had an opportunity to discuss with Barack the fight that we are conducting against Daesh in Syria. As model and strategic partners we will continue to show solidarity with each other with an understanding towards global peace."
Around 11:45am pool entered the room where President Obama and President Erdogan were to speak. They were not seated in the chairs set up for them, but instead were in another room and entered at.
The meeting was set up inside the lobby of the clubhouse. There were 8 cream-colored leather chairs lining each side of the dark wood floor. In he middle of them were two large white flower arrangements. At the far end there were two cushy cream-colored arm chairs. A small table was in between them and had a smaller flower arrangement on it.
Messrs. Obama and Erdogan entered the room at 11:49am. They sat in the chairs to deliver their remarks, which were translated by interpreters.
Also seen in the room, standing in the back not seated in the delegations' chairs: Secretary of State Kerry, Ben Rhodes, Josh Earnest.
Pool exited at noon.
