Travel pool report #7, 8/31/15 - OTR outing in Anchorage
At 7:08 p.m., the motorcade rolled from the Captain Cook Hotel and
through the mostly emptied streets of Anchorage. President Obama
created quite a stir as he made his way, including on Minnesota
Bypass, a 65-mile-an-hour highway where motorists traveling the
opposite direction had simply stopped their cars in the left lane or
made the barest attempt to pull over and gotten out to capture
photographs or video of his motorcade passing by. Others stood gawking
in the grassy median.
We came to a stop on a tree-shaded street in South Anchorage where we
are told POTUS is having dinner at the home of Alice Rogoff, the
publisher of the Alaska Dispatch News.
Your pool is holding in vans, with the sun showing no sign of setting
at this hour, and has not spotted POTUS.
