Subject: Travel Pool Report #7 9-1-15 with clarification
CLARIFICATION: The name of the Kenai Fjords National Park physical science project manager is Deborah KURTZ, with an R, as seen in Travel Pool Report #5. She is wearing khaki shirt, khaki Smokey Bear hat, green jacket. Sorry for the confusion.
Motorcade left Kenai Fjords National Park in Seward at 3:40 p.m. enroute to an unknown OTR and then to Seward Harbor for a three-hour boat tour of the Kenai Fjords. As per White House staff, there will be three boats, a large one for press, a smaller one for POTUS and a smaller one for White House staff. We will have a tour guide on board telling us the same stuff the president is hearing.
There will be three stops/photo ops: one boasting wildlife, two with receding glaciers. No one will get off the boats.
Promised photos were oversold, pretty much a waste of pixels. This is why I am a writer not a photographer. Apologies. However the Washington Post's Steven Mufson has kindly agreed to share his photo of the president talking with the glacier behind him. I can ship it along to any interested parties.
