After a 20-minute uneventful motorcade ride the president arrived at the restaurant Area Four in Cambridge, where he is attending a DNC fundraiser.

The president toured the Senate replica as well as the replica of Kennedy’s office, according to USA Today White House reporter Gregory Korte. Korte, who was in the gallery, provided this detail to the pool:

Obama stopped inside the replica senate chamber for about three minutes to talk to some students and shake their hands. We couldn’t hear everything from the replica Senate press gallery, but Obama talked generally about the importance of service, and that he hoped they would learn something about democracy even if they didn’t choose a career in politics.

Pool is now holding in a Mexican restaurant next to Area Four.
