Obama was the last of the G7 leaders to be greeted by Merkel. Most came in golf carts. UK Prime Minister Cameron rolled up in a compact BMW. Obama was the only one to walk.
"Where should I stand" Obama asked Merkel. Quick photo and they headed inside the castle at the Krün resort.
A little while later they posed for a group photo in a field. "Everybody wave," Obama suggested. All the world leaders waved somewhat reluctantly except Merkel, the host, who kept her hands clasped in front of her.
