Vice President Joe Biden made a stop at Rudy's Strudel and Bakery in Parma, Ohio before delivering a speech at UAW Local 1005 Hall. Biden sampled a pastry and greeted staff warmly with hugs. He then watched as workers assembled pierogies.
The shop is a Cleveland establishment, and serves up pierogies and pastries. Ukrainian immigrant Eugenia Polatajko co-owns Rudy's with daughter Lidia Tremple.
Biden then headed over to the Clinton campaign Parma field office, and said hello to volunteers and staff. He even brought them a snack from Rudy's.
Among the volunteers he met there was 71-year-old Cheryl Broussard, of North Royalton, Ohio. Biden greeted Broussard with a big hug.
"I'm absolutely surprised that he's coming," Broussard said.
