Vice President Joe Biden stopped at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip with former Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto around 11:40 a.m. Thursday.

Cortez Masto, a Democrat, is running for U.S. Senate and aiming to claim retiring Sen. Harry Reid's seat.

Biden and Cortez Masto walked through a staff dining area, shaking hands and hugging Mandalay Bay staff members. Biden and Cortez Masto posed for photos.

He spent about 30 minutes talking to workers and urged people to vote for Cortez Masto.

"She's going to be our next United States senator, with your help," Biden told one group of Cortez Masto. "By the way, she gets it."

Biden is in Las Vegas Thursday campaigning for Cortez Masto and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
