At Hotel Westin Camino Real, the second day of work of the meeting between the U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden, Guatemalan President Otto Perez, El Salvador´s President Salvador Sanchez and Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez, started discussing specifics for the Northern Triangle Alliance for Prosperity.
Key members and government officials represented each country.
Guatemalan President began explaining that the meeting´s intention was to get down to the details of the plan, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank.
Each country was going to make a presentation followed by an opening discussion of team members.
Honduras was going to propose some ideas to lobby the plan in the American Congress. Mr. Perez said that March 16th is the date in which the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of each country will present to the U.S. Government and U.S. Congress the Alliance for Prosperity with all its details.
The US Vice-President made a quick intervention saying he was anxious to get to work, that it was an important moment for the region and the United States. “If we do this well a generation will be thank-full for what we’ve done”.
