VPOTUS travel pool report #4, 9/29/15 – Meeting with Cypriot president
The pool was led at 10:25 a.m. into a nondescript room at the U.S. mission to the U.N. where Vice President Biden and President Nicos Anastasiades of Cyprus were seated side by side in front of a blue curtain and two American and two Cypriot flags. Biden sat on the right and Anastasiades on the left as we faced them. Each had six aides, who sat across from each other in chairs in front of the two leaders. “It’s good to see you,” Biden said to Anastasiades.
“You want us to stand up to show we can stand up?” Biden asked the pool, and they did, shaking hands for the cameras as both smiled.
“Good to see you,” Biden said to the pool, before we were escorted out.
