VPOTUS travel pool report #7, 9/29/15 - UN departure and Abe bilat

At 4:14 p.m., Vice President Biden emerged from the room where he had
been meeting with Poroshenko, and walked to his motorcade parked
outside. We rolled from the UN at 4:17, and after an uneventful, six –
minute motorcade, we arrived at the Kitano Hotel on Park Avenue. Biden
entered at 4:25 and headed upstairs while the pool held for a moment
in the lobby. We were escorted into an extremely tiny and crowded
meeting room where Biden and prime minister Shinzo Abe of Japan stood
gripping each others' hands and smiling broadly. They did not respond
to a shouted question from your pool about the prospects for the
Trans-Pacific Partnership, but it seems certain to be on the agenda,
as evidenced by the fact that Mike Froman, the United States trade
representative, was on hand to participate.

Other participants from the U.S. side, according to the VP's office:

Dr. Colin Kahl, National Security Advisor to the Vice President and
Deputy Assistant to the President

Dr. Ely Ratner, Deputy National Security Advisor to the Vice President

Danny Russel, Assistant Secretary for East Asia and the Pacific

Dan Kritenbrink, Senior Director for Asia (NSC)

Kelly Swaine, Special Advisor to the Vice President for Asia and Trade
