Standing in for the print pooler, who is pre-set at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

President Obama emerged from the White House in mid afternoon, exiting the West Wing and walking outside down the colonnade, into the residence, and then out the doors toward Marine One, which was waiting in its usual spot, a large path of lawn that had been cleared of snow. "I shoveled all this stuff," Obama said jokingly, making a shoveling motion with his hands, when asked about the storm. He boarded his helicopter, followed by traveling aides Joe Paulsen and Bobby Schmuck. Marine One lifted off at 2:57 p.m.
