Subject: White House pool report 7-- scene at town hall

Pool is sitting in space where town hall is taking space, Dewberry Hall in the George W. Johnson Center on GMU's campus, which is normally a place where students can study, eat, etc. Big band classics were played in the hall as the audience awaited for town hall to start.

Audience wraps around seats where POTUS and Anderson Cooper will sit. Pool is behind cameras, facing POTUS' and Cooper's seats. According to the warm-up by talk CNN Washington bureau chief Sam Feist before event started, audience is made up of those who support and oppose POTUS' gun control efforts. Feist also said questions were not discussed ahead of time with the White House.

Gabby Giffords -- the former U.S. representative from Arizona who survived a gun attack in 2011 -- and her husband astronaut Mark Kelly are present in the audience.

From the POTUS staff, Josh Earnest and Valerie Jarrett were among those spotted walking in.

There will be two breaks, with a pool spray during one of them, and the POTUS portion of the event will last an hour.
