Subject: Foreign Pool report#1 /POTUS arrival in Riyadh
POTUS stepped out of Air Force One by himself . All senior staff exited from the other side of the plane including National Security Advisor Susan Rice , Counter Terrorism Coordinator, Lisa Monico and Press Secretary Josh Ernest, Deputy National Advisor for Communication Ben Rhodes and Senior Advisor to the President Rob Maley.
POTUS was greeted by The governor of Riyadh , Prince Faysal Bin Bandar ,the US Abassador to the Kingdom and his wife . Noted the absence of the Crown Prince , Mohamed Bin Nayef , Defense Minister and the King's son , Mohamed Bin Salman , Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir at the airport . They are expected to be at the bilat .
The red carpet was rolled out for the President and his delegation but no ceremonies; no national anthem of both countries and no view of Guards of Honor . POTUS was seen chatting with the prince and he was introduced to other officials .
The President boarded Marine One on his way to Erga Palace where he will be conducting a bilateral meeting with King Salman Bin Abed AlAziz Bin Saud and senior Saudi Officials .
Reporters boarded a helo for a short journey of 10 minutes to the landing zone of the Ritz Carlton hotel on our way to cover the bilat .
We were loaded into a van on our way for the pool spry of the bilat at the Erga Palace .
Pooler spotted CIA director John Bernan getting into a van ahead of us .
