Subject: Out-of-town pool report #3: arrival
AF1 touched down here in Baton Rouge at 11:45 CT. Greeting POTUS first - other than the stiflingly humid Louisiana air - was Louisiana Governor Jon Bel Edwards and his wife Donna. The governor had something in hands that looked like it could have been a binder of some sort.
POTUS had ditched the blazer, rolled up the sleeves on his blue shirt and wore comfortable shoes you might hike in. In the receiving line, POTUS spoke at length with Edwards and Nungesser. He first shook hands down the line, but gripped up then warmly embraced Rep. Cedric Richmond.
He entered the truck taking him to our first site at 11:57, flanked on the other side by the governor.
Per WH, here's the list of officials who greeted POTUS:
John Bel Edwards, Governor of Louisiana
Donna Edwards, First Lady of Louisiana?
Billy Nungesser, Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana
U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy
U.S. Senator David Vitter
U.S. Congressman Garrett Graves
U.S. Congressman Cedric Richmond
Kip Holden, Mayor of Baton Rouge
Barney Arceneaux, Mayor of Gonzales
?Craig Fugate, FEMA Administrator
Motorcade was rolling shortly after noon.
