Motorcade rolling back to WH at 11:51 a.m.
Ceremonies began at amphitheater at 11:12 a.m. The U.S. Army Band played a selection of songs throughout, including the national anthem and others fitting of the occasion. Master Sgt. Michael Ford sang "The Last Full Measure of Devotion."
Before POTUS, Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Defense Secretary Ash Carter made brief remarks. POTUS began speaking at 11:30 and spoke for about 15 min.
Ashley Wheeler, wife of Master Sgt. Joshua Wheeler who was first U.S. service member killed in combat during ISIS fight, was at the ceremony with her 10-month-old-son. She is seated near stage in section where Ash Carter's wife is. She got a standing ovation.
Col. Jocelyn Aberle, a public affairs officer, said there were about 6,000 people at the ceremony.
