The Obamas are dining with friends at State Road<>http://www.stateroadrestaurant.com/<#facts>, a West Tisbury restaurant they have visited many times. The restaurant describes itself as serving modern American cuisine and of supporting its "local food shed" by sourcing ingredients from regional farmers, fisherman and food artisans. "Artisan" is roughly translated to mean expensive.
The menu has a beefy listing of meat appetizers, including country pate, pork belly and foie gras torchon. Main dishes include pan-seared or pan-roasted striped bass, monkfish, chicken and duck.
President Obama lost five pounds over the past year, presumably using the kind of intense dietary control that may have led him to eat just seven almonds a night<>http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/03/us/politics/obama-after-dark-the-precious-hours-alone.html<>. Or perhaps he is not such a dietary stickler. Can he resist the flourless chocolate sundae with marshmallow cream? Or the coconut cake with almond plum gelato?
