Departure for the airport

At 815, his news conference complete, President Obama left the JW
Marriott Hotel in Hangzhou for the airport.

After another motorcade ride on deserted streets, past
garishly-lighted office buildings, empty apartment towers, gaudy
stadiums, and endless ribbons of highway, the president arrived at the
airport.

Air Force One, it should be noted, was equipped with a full-sized
staircase, emblazoned with the name Hangzhou International Airport and
snappy blue lighting under the railing.

Obama was seen off by the following dignitaries, per the WH:

Cui Tiankai, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the US
2. Song Cong, DDG of Department of Northern American and Oceanian
Affairs? at Ministry of Foreign Affairs
?3. Binglin Song, Counselor of the Protocol Department of Ministry of
Foreign Affairs
4. Jianman Wang, Deputy Secretary of Chinese People's Political
Consultative Conference
5. Guanxin He, Hangzhou Deputy Secretary of Chinese People's Political
Consultative Conference
?6. Yuanqiang Shi, Chief Liaison Officer for the US Delegation
7. Max Baucus, Ambassador of the United States to the People's Republic of China
8. Hanscom Smith?, Consul General of the Unites States in Shanghia

We are taxiing for Vientiane, Laos at 900.
