Subject: Pool report #1 -- Moment of silence

Pool was brought out to the South Lawn around 8:15 am, where several dozen White House staffers were already gathered waiting for POTUS moment of silence.

More continued to filter out onto the lawn as we got closer to the scheduled start time. Kellyanne Conway, Sarah Sanders, Gary Cohn, Hope Hicks, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Marc Short, Don McGahn, H.R. McMaster and others started exiting the WH around 8:30 and some of those senior staffers began lining up together near the front edge of the crowd. COS John Kelly arrived slightly after them at 8:34. He stood closer to the back of the group.

POTUS and FLOTUS exited the White House at 8:45 am. At 8:46 am, a bell tolled as they stood between the two wings of the crowd with their heads bowed in silence.

A Marine played Taps on the trumpet at 8:47 am and all including POTUS and FLOTUS placed their hands over their hearts.

At 8:48 am POTUS and FLOTUS walked back inside the White House.

Note that 8:46 am is the time the first plane crashed into the North Tower of the WTC in New York on Sept. 11, 2001.
