Subject: Pool report #2 AG swearing-in
Pool ushered into Oval Office for swearing in of Jeff Sessions as attorney general.
POTUS spoke about Sessions' career and announced that he would sign three EOs.
"He's devoted his life to the cause of justice and believes deeply that all people are equals in the eyes of the law" POTUS said of Sessions.
"We face the menace if rising crime and the threat of deadly terror," POTUS said.
"He's trained better for it than anybody else."
"He will be a great protector of the people."
POTUS then announced the orders.
"I'm signing three executive actions today designed to restore safety in America."
One would "Break the back of the criminal cartels that have spread across our nation and are destroying the blood of our youth"
One would create a "task force on reducing violent crime"
And the third would instruct DOJ to implement a plan to stop crime against law enforcement officers
"A new era of justice begins and it begins right now." POTUS said.
VPOTUS administered the oath to Sessions at 11:06 am.
AG Sessions then spoke briefly at the podium near the desk.
"There are a lot of things that we need to do" at the DOJ such as support law enforcement officers, Sessions said.
"We have a crime problem. I wish the rose that we're seeing in crime in America today was some sort of aberration or blip" but said he judged it as a "dangerous permanent trend"
"We need a lawful system of immigration." Sessions added.
"That's not wrong that's not immoral that's not indecent."
"We need to end that lawlessness that threatens the American people."
POTUS then sat at the resolute desk and signed the executive orders, reading the title of each.
"Very important, all very important," he said as he signed the final order.
