Subject: Pool Report #2, bilat between VP Pence and Georgian Prime Minister

After motorcading to the Georgian chancellery in Tbilisi, VP Pence took part in a bi-lat with the Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvrikashvili.

Around 10:10 a.m. pool was ushered into the meeting. Mr. Pence and the U.S. delegation sat on one side of a rectangular table; Mr. Kvrikashvili and his delegation on the other.

Photo spray lasted about a minute.

Mr. Pence thanked Mr. Kvrikashvili for his hospitality at the welcoming dinner last night.

“President Trump asked me to extend greetings to you this morning and to say we are with you,” Mr. Pence said. “We appreciate the 25-year relationship the United States of America has forge with Georgia. We see Georgia as a key strategic partner and stand by your territorial integrity and your aspirations to become a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. I look very much forward to our discussion this morning.”

Pool is now holding in a conference room for a joint news conference. Georgian and U.S. flags are set up on a stage, along with two lecterns and teleprompters.  Chief Pooler Ashley Parker and myself will be asking questions for the U.S. side.
