Here's more from POTUS remarks:

POTUS cited a statistic there was a 57 percent increase last year in shot law enforcement officers. He said there would be a "zero tolerance policy for acts of violence against law enforcement."

The country, POTUS said, is behind law enforcement and they shouldn't "let the dishonest media try to convince you it's different."

POTUS said he'd work to address the mental health crisis, saying prison shouldn't be a substitute for treatment, and fight drugs "afflicting our nation like never, ever before."

POTUS said he'd be "ruthless" in the fight. "We're going to stop these drugs from poisoning our people," POTUS said.

POTUS said law enforcment would be crucial in fighting illegal immigration because local officers know undocumented immigrants by their first names and nicknames. "The federal government will never be that precise," POTUS said.

"We'll get them out of the country and bring them back where they came from," POTUS said.

POTUS attributed crime in Chicago to the presence of undocumented immigrants.
