Subject: Pool report No. 4: More from Oval/Poroshenko

More from Oval Office pool spray:

Pool had been ushered in a couple minutes after 11 a.m. and were in the Oval for fewer than three minutes.

POTUS was seated with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on his right. Both were in arm chairs.

Vice President Mike Pence, National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster and a woman your pooler could not identify sat on the couch to POTUS’ left. Two men, who may have been with Poroshenko, were seated on the couch to the right of the Ukrainian president along with Michael Anton, a National Security Council member.

Please check the following against any official transcripts. Your pooler has checked it against TV pool feed and Poroshenko is difficult to hear. Foreign pool may supplement.

POTUS: “Thank you very much. It’s a great honor to be with President Poroshenko of the Ukraine, a place that we’ve all been very much involved in and we’ve been seeing it and everybody’s been reading about it. And we’ve had some very, very good discussions. It’s going to continue throughout the day and I think a lot of progress has been made. And it’s a great honor to have you, Mr. President. Thank you. Thank you very much. Would you like to say something?”

Poroshenko (very soft-spoken and hard to hear over camera shutters): “It’s a great honor, a great pleasure to be together with you, Mr. President … supporter … partners … We’re really fighting for freedom and democracy.”

He appears to acknowledge U.S. support “in security and defense … support of my 45 million nation [sic] … And I’m absolutely confident that today is a story of success and I’m proud to have you, Mr. President, and the United States as the co-sponsor of this story of success. … your leadership, of your very effective steps because today is a true historic day. Five months of your presidency and two [?] years when we launched the first peace plan [?] … effectively coordinate …”
