At 9.26am POTUS and the rest of the group came to an upstairs exhibit
on Ben Carson that displays his lab coat and surgical scrubs, a
desktop nameplate and a model of a conjoined brain.

Asked what he thought of the museum, POTUS said: "Honestly it's
fantastic. I've learned and I've seen and they've done an incredible
job. And we're now going to look at the Ben Carson exhibit. That's
very exciting."

POTUS and Carson stood before the glass case for a few minutes,
talking affably, inaudible to your pooler. At one point POTUS tapped
Carson on the shoulder. The rest of the group, which includes Senator
Tim Scott, clustered close by.

POTUS said to the press pool: "We're proud of Ben, proud of Ben,
especially Candy," - a reference to Carson's wife, who smiled.

Someone asked if POTUS also intends to visit the Holocaust museum. He
replied: "I will. I will be doing it soon. Very important. Very
important for me."

Then he and the others walked on.

A caption on the exhibit says: 'Ben Carson, thinking big. Dr Benjamin
Carson (b.1951) overcame poverty and failing grades to become one of
the world's most distinguished pediatric neurosurgeons.'

Pool is now in the museum's main atrium where the presidential lectern
has been set up in front of two flags and a black curtain backdrop.
Remarks therefore expected soon.
